PARENTS, GUARDIANS, SUPPORTERS & OFFICIALS CODE OF CONDUCT
MANDATORY & ENFORCEABLE CODES OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS, SUPPORTERS, VOLUNTEERS, MEMBERS AND OFFICIALS
- Remember that you are there for the participants to enjoy the game, and players play sport for enjoyment. They are not playing for the entertainment to spectators, nor are they miniature professionals.
- Encourage children to always participate according to the rules and to respect the officials decisions.
- Demonstrate appropriate social behaviour by not using foul language, harassing players, coaches or officials. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
- Remember that players earn best by example. Applaud good plays by all teams.
- Don’t use remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability – you’ll let down your family and yourself if you do – & many such comments are actually illegal
- Recognise the value of all volunteers who are giving up their valuable time. Lead by example and respect all players, coaches, umpires and spectators – physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated
- Encourage participation, but don’t force it.
- Teach that enjoyment is more important than winning
- Never ridicule or yell at a player for making mistakes or losses – supporters are there to support not downgrade
- Respect umpires’ decisions. If you disagree with an official, raise the issue through the appropriate channels in private rather than questioning the official’s judgment and honesty in public.
- Abide by the club’s policies available at www.ftgeaglesjfc.com.au
- Keep behind the boundary line whilst the game is in play
- Do not Coach your child during training sessions and games. That’s what the coaches are there for; it sends mixed messages to the players creating confusion
- Do not smoke within 10m of sideline or team bench.
- Do not consume alcohol at junior training or matches
- Agree to follow all COVID related procedures
By registering your child with the Ferntree Gully Eagles Junior Football Club you agree to abide by these principles. You also support the Club in its undertakings and encourage the Club to take any necessary disciplinary actions including the suspension and banning where warranted of any players, parents and or spectators for repeated or serious breaches of these Codes of Conduct.
